This emkaPACK has been configured to transmit 7 ecg leads (L1,L2,L3,aVF,aVR,aVL, precordial lead) and activity.

It was delivered with a 5-electrode cable (IEC color coding shown here: RA-red, LA-yellow, RL-black, LL-green).

The single activity signal is the average of activity in the 3 axes, measured by the accelerometer inside the emkaPACK.

The nibp module inside the emkaPACK measures blood pressure from a cuff placed around the subject's tail.

This emkaPACK contains the emkaBELT module for measuring lung volume in large subejcts such as dogs, primates and pigs. It is based on respiratory inductive plethysmography (RIP).

The belt is placed around the subject's thorax or abdomen (depending on the breathing pattern of the species). Movement caused by breathing leads to changes in the belt's inductance; these changes are converted to lung volume.

You can determine which of the two belts is the main belt - this allows adaptation to mainly thoracic breathers (e.g. dogs) or mainly abdominal breathers (e.g. primates). The second belt is used to obtain phase-shift parameters.

The advantage of having an external emkaBELT module is that you can record for a longer duration (because the module has its own batteries).
